Light House

You can start your walk on the waterfront of the old harbor and continue to the mole that will lead you to the lighthouse. The beautiful Chania old port lighthouse was built by the Venetians and rebuilt by the Egyptians in the early 19th century, taking the shape of a minaret. From there you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the harbor and the Chania old town with a background of the White Mountains!

The Νew Town of Chania

Nea Chora is a long sandy beach and suburb of Chania located just 1 km west of the Venetian Port of Chania with well-known fish taverns and restaurants. The main beach of Nea Chora is very well organized and with all the tourist facilities provided nearby. It is sandy, with shallow waters and in some places with rocks. It is ideal for those who want to stay close to Chania. In the summer, the Sardine Festival takes place on the beach of Nea Chora, with dances and songs and plenty of fish that is distributed free of charge to the people who attend. Opposite Nea Chora is the small island of Lazareto, where there is a sandy beach.

Kastelli: The “Kasteli” district is located on the hill above the harbor in the Chania old town. The archeological finds of this place prove that the history of Chania around 3650-3000 BC, in the late Neolithic era.
